Policy #20: Late Assignment

20.1 Purpose

Submitting assignments within an allotted time is considered one of the measures of academic and clinical competency. We understand that our students often have career and family obligations that extend outside of their studies at CiiAT so we have intentionally given ample time for the completion of final assignments.

Final assignments are allocated a two-week completion period to ensure that grading is conducted promptly and feedback is provided in a timely manner. We know that it is not in the best interest of our students to extend their final assignment submission beyond the scheduled due date. The course completion dates in this program are carefully planned and staying on track with course work is imperative for student success.

20.2 5-Day Grace Period

For these reasons, students are expected to complete all assignments on time. However, circumstances could arise that could cause a student difficulty in completing an assignment in a timely manner. In this case, students will be given a 5-day “grace period” on late assignments. No grades will be deducted during this time.

After this 5-day grace period, failing to submit the assignment will result in a failed grade for the assignment and the course. This will require the student to retake the course, which will incur additional fees.

Studying with CiiAT is more than just an education,

it’s a personal journey within a supportive community.

Whether it’s through our small, intimate classes, or through our friendly administrative and technical support team, we strive to provide personalized help and attention.
