Policy #24: Program Completion & Graduation
24.1 Program Completion Requirements
- Students are expected to complete all program requirements within the prescribed timeframes for their enrolled track: 18 months for the Accelerated Track and 24 months for the Part-Time Track.
- The total of all tuition and mandatory program fees, including any fees associated with retakes and clinical extensions, shall not exceed $32,000. Students are expected to complete all academic, clinical, and graduation requirements within this tuition limit in order to be eligible for graduation. Once the $32,000 maximum has been reached, no further paid instruction or extensions are available, which may affect a student’s ability to complete outstanding requirements.
- If program requirements are not met within the applicable timeframe, students may, subject to approval, retake required course(s) and/or purchase a clinical extension to complete outstanding requirements. Additional fees apply for all course retakes and clinical extensions.
24.2 Credentials
Students are awarded a diploma upon completion of coursework and clinical placement requirements.
Graduates are qualified to be practicing professional art therapists. All students are encouraged to become members of both the Canadian Art Therapy Association and any other applicable regulatory body in the region in which they choose to work, such as the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
