Michelle Winkel
Michelle Winkel is an art therapist, trained facilitator, and supervisor with twenty years of experience working directly with groups, families, and individuals.
Since 1999, Michelle has used art therapy with businesses and organizations in group settings. Michelle has taught art therapy at Loyola Marymount University, IPATT in Bangkok, BCSAT in British Columbia, and has served as the Executive Director of the B.C. School of Art Therapy. As a supervisor at a local school agency in California for five years, she co-designed and implemented a reflective practice program that worked with the Child Protective Agency and other agencies in the area to improve supervision, performance, and morale of front-line staff.
Michelle’s credentials include a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist in California and Registered Art Therapist in North America as well as Registered Canadian Art Therapist. From 2004-2005, she held a fellowship in Infant-Parent Mental Health from Harvard Children’s Hospital. Currently she serves on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Art Therapy Association.
