Program Description
Designed to fulfill one psychology prerequisite toward admission to the Art Psychotherapy Diploma program, the Art of Psychology program provides a solid foundation in psychology through the lens of therapeutic arts.
This fully self-directed program allows participants to learn at their own pace. The curriculum begins with an introduction to core psychological concepts and the principles of therapeutic arts. Learners then examine key considerations for applying therapeutic arts across the human developmental stages and major life transitions.
The program concludes with an exploration of how therapeutic arts support mental health, enhance emotional well-being, and contribute to holistic personal growth.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this course the successful student will have reliably demonstrated the ability to:
- Students will be able to identify current psychological and art-based theories and approaches
- Students will recognize indications of psychological dysregulation
- Students will demonstrate an awareness of the relationship between therapeutic arts and psychology
Admission Requirements
Participants must meet a minimum age requirement of 19 years and 3 years of education completed in English.
If the applicant has not completed 3 years of education in English, evidence of achievement in a recognized standardized language test/assessment at an overall level equivalent to IELTS 5.5 (academic) or higher.
Completion Requirements
Participants must achieve a minimum grade of 70% and all assignments must be completed in order to achieve the certificate.
Method of Evaluation
The course will include assigned readings, followed by learner engagement through asynchronous discussions. Participants will respond to peers' questions and comments, engage with the instructor’s prompts, analyze content, and provide feedback. This will be an open enrolment course incorporating self-directed learning throughout.

This program does not require approval by the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU) of the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training.
