Pierre has been a full-time professor at  l’Université du Québec à Montreal (UQAM) since 2006, where he teaches art therapy and the psychology of creativity. With the help of doctorate students in his lab, he acts as research director of many undergoing research projects, in ways to contribute to a better understanding of the unique dimension of art therapy in mental health. His perspective in psychology is mostly situated in humanistic and phenomenological orientation.
He has been involved in the Quebec Art Therapy Association for more than 20 years, acting as president most of the time. He has worked as an art therapist in community setup and in private practice, working with families, children, and adults. Since 2019, he has collaborated as an associate instructor with CiiAT.
Pierre showed interest in visual arts and music from a very early age. These two domains are still essential in his life. He perceives them as a way to maintain a creative and healthy dialogue between reality and the imaginary world.
