Private Training Institutions in BC (PTIB)
Private training institutions in BC are regulated by the Ministry of Advanced Education-Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB).
This Ministry’s mandate is to:
- Ensure Institutions meet the requirements and standards for certification;
- Maintain a Private Training Institution Directory of all certified institutions and the programs they provide, along with formerly certified institutions;
- Provide student protection and oversee the Student Tuition Protection Fund.
CiiAT – The Canadian International Institute of Art Therapy (a proprietorship of The Proulx Global Education and Community Foundation – a registered not-for-profit) is a Registered Institution with PTIB.
Canadian Art Therapy Association (CATA)
CiiAT is recognized by the Canadian Art Therapy Association as an Institute that meets all educational requirements.
CiiAT Directors are actively involved with CATA and have jointly held several board Chair roles including Past Vice-President, Past Education Chair and Research Chair.
International Expressive Arts Therapy Association (IEATA)
CiiAT Post Masters Graduates are encouraged and eligible for membership in the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association (IEATA).

COLLEGE OF REGISTERED PSYCHOTHERAPISTS OF ONTARIO (CRPO)
The CiiAT Art Psychotherapy Diploma Program is recognized by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
Completion of this program will allow residents of Ontario to register with CRPO upon graduation. For more details, please go to crpo.ca
